Working with architects is really interesting - they are even more visual than us designers and want to keep things clean. Even a little too clean for their own good :) So more often than not we suggest to "mess it up" slightly so that key messaging and usability are put above full-screen images. Yes, the latter sounds and looks perfect, but it's not very user friendly. So, we work together to understand the needs of their customers, and develop communication and content structure to match, instead of creating "yet another architect site" that is not very user friendly. Architects are strong though, and make the final decisions, so we did end up tweaking it to a full-screen image on the homepage. We had a fun game of push-and-pull.
